Mr. Shamshi Z. Mulla
Chairman

Prior to joining CARF, Mr. Shamshi Mulla was a businessman. After completing his M.Com in 2001 from Mumbai University, he joined his family textile business here in India which was established 25 years back and, since childhood he was always fascinated by how textile products are made and always wanted to get the technical know-how of the trade. He was the whole and sole of the Textile section of Pioneer Group. 

He is also the co-founder of ‘Sahil Automobile since last 10 years. Not only Textile and Automobile business, he was also involved in Estate business.

Down the line, he always wanted to do some social work and help the poor & needy people of our society. He joined CARF and was holding the post of Honorary Chief Executive Officer. Over the years he excelled in his performance with dedicated service to the poor and sincere devotion to the Foundation. 

Mr. Shamshi Mulla is elected as the Chairman of the Foundation.

 

 

Graduated in Commerce from Bombay University in the year 2000, Mrs. Savita Nathani initially worked with Albatros Pharmaceuticals as Accounts Manager for a period of 8 years. 

During her tenure with Albatros, she gained vast experience not only in her field of Accounts, but mastered the art of office management. She gained all round office experience which motivated her to rise higher and use her expertise effectively. 

Mrs. Nathani joined CARF in the year 2008 in the capacity of Accounts Manager. During the period of 8 years with CARF, she was promoted to Sr. Accounts Manager, Dy. General Manager, General Manager, then Chief Operating Officer.  With total experience of 16 years and acquiring the qualities of leadership, she serves the Foundation full-fledge with devotion and integrity.

Mr. Vaseem Shaikh
Sec. General

Mr. Vaseem A. Shaikh completed his B. Tech (Civil) in 2006 from Janardhan Rai University, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth. He completed MBA (Finance) from the Institute of Business Management Studies, Mumbai. He worked as a Site Engineer for M/s. Ahluwalia Contracts (I) Ltd. for more than 2 years, then joined as Senior Engineer for Peninsula Lands Ltd., Mumbai. At present he is with Lodha Groups as Associate General Manager. Besides his professional life, he is also involved in social activities. He spends his leisure time doing social work for the poor and needy of the society. Mr. Shaikh is currently the Trustee of CARF and holding the post of Sec. General.

A successful film director, producer and a screenwriter from Bollywood and a well-known Socialist of our country. His early directional career consisted of acclaimed movies, such as Arth, Saaransh, Janam, Naam, Sadak and Zakhm. He now produces and writes for commercial and more box office friendly films such as Jism, Murder and Woh Lamhe. He co-owns film producing company Vishesh Films with his brother Mukesh Bhatt. Mr. Bhatt did his schooling from Don Bosco High School, Matunga. He is a member of the advisory board of U.S. nonprofit orgnaisation namely TeachAIDS. Inspite of his busy schedule and heavy work, he volunteered to be on our Board of Trustees and gives his best to the Foundation as and when needed.

A Priest and the Founder & Managing Trustee of Kripa Foundation, which is devoted to the care, support and rehabilitation of those affected by Chemical Dependency and HIV & AIDS. Known to all as Fr Joe, and many others as “the Singing Priest”, he prefers not to highlight his academic qualifications of Masters in Psychology & Philosophy from University of Bombay, Licenciate in Divinity (Theology) from Bombay & Pune, Certifications in Counselling Theory & Practice (Carkuff Model) & expertise from the Hazelden Institute of Minnesota, USA. Most cherished of all Academic achievements, is his decades of involvement with Yoga, first as a patient, pupil and practitioner, then in later years as a Certified Trainer and in recent decades as a friend, associate and an International Mentor of the Guruji B K S Iyengar School of Yoga, Pune. Fr. Joe is the Trustee of CARF and always available whenever needed.

Graduated from Mumbai University in the field of Arts in the year 1972. He worked as a Branch Manager in Bombay Mercantile Co-op. Bank for 37 years and also as a Chief Executive Officer with Kokan Mercantile Co.op. Bank. He is the Ex-Member of General Council Now Board Members of Anjuman-I-Islam, Mumbai and also the Trustee of Kalsekar Hospital, Versova. He is the President of The Achra Education & Welfare Association, Mumbai and President of S.K. Kazi Library, Achra. He is in the Managing Committee of different organizations. With his vast knowledge and experience that he gained over the period of years in different capacity, Mr. Usman Kazi has volunteered to be our Trustee and serves towards the welfare of the Foundation.

Mr.Aziz Mulla

A post graduate Diploma holder in Logistic Management, IIMM (Indian Institute of Material Management). He formerly worked with AUJAN Soft Drink Industry, Saudi Arabia as Warehouse Officer, then in various other well known companies as Sr. Quality Analyst and Technical Support Executive. Mr. Mulla is currently working with DHL Supply Chain India Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai as Deputy Manager – Transport. Besides, he worked on various projects like: Lenovo, Eureka Forbes, NCR (National Cash Register Company), Roche & Emerson – Implementation for Transport. Being young & energetic, he volunteered to be the Trustee and provides his talents and services to the Trust.

Mr. Ali Khan is a popular Actor and Producer in Bollywood film industry. He visited CARF as a well wisher, and during his visit he met and interacted with our cancer patients personally. CARF distributed cheques to these patients in the hands of Mr. Ali Khan. Being impressed with the work CARF has been doing for last 18 years and the number of patients that have been given financial help, he showed interest in joining hands with CARF. Mr. Ali Khan is appointed as a Trustee of CARF with effect from February, 2019. Mr. Ali khan has been conferred with the posiiton of World Peace Ambassador by The World Peacekeepers movement on 22nd Oct. 2019.

Ms. Pooja Bhatt
Well-Known Actress and Film Maker

Ms. Pooja Bhatt is a well known figure in the film industry, a model and film maker. She is associated with CARF as a ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ since last couple of years, and spares her time & talents for the welfare of the Foundation.

Prof. Dr. Rehan Kazi
MS, DNB, FICS, FACS, FRCS, PhD. Hon. Chair in Head, Neck Cancer Research: Manipal University, India. Hon. Associate Professor: University of Warwick, England Head & Neck Cancer Surgeon

Dr. Rehan joined CARF as life trustee in 2001 and later from 2006 onwards he was the Sec. General of CARF and he did tremendous work for the well-being of cancer patients. He materialised many changes in the working of CARF and initiated many new ideas. He was the Sec. General from 2006 to 2012. During this tenure he made it a point to attend all the board meetings of CARF. In December 2012 he was nominated as the Chairman – Elect and from February, 2013 he was elected as the Chairman of CARF. During his tenure as Chairman, CARF achieved various achievements and milestones under his guidance. Presently, he serves as the Hon. Patron of CARF.

Dr. Peter Rhys Evans, a qualified doctor from St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London in 1971, is trained in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Plastic Surgery in London and Birmingham and also Chief Surgeon on the head and neck team at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London. Dr. Evans is associated with CARF as ‘Hon. Patron’ since last many years.

Dr. Jatin Shah
Prof. of Surgery & Chief, Head & Neck Service, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, U.S.A.

Dr. Jatin P. Shah was our Trustee and now holds his place as ‘Hon. Patron’ of the Foundation. He has been Chief of the Head and Neck Service in the Department of Surgery since 1992 and also leads the Head and Neck Disease Management Team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre. He is actively involved in training the next generation of head and neck cancer surgeons. Dr. Shah is also a sociologist and renders his assistance towards the cause of poor cancer patients.
